The joys of being a mom...

My baby girl just recently reached the 20-month mark.

She ALSO just recently reached the 20 pound mark.

What can I say, she's just a little peanut!

Along with a new car seat and a new booster seat for the table, I figured it's about time to introduce the concept of the "potty".

She took to it quite well!

We'll have to work on the no-pants thing, though. :)

Actually, she went "poopie" on the potty for the first time Sunday night!

What a momentous occasion!!!

Ah... the joys of motherhood! Taking pleasure in the simple things in life like the first smile, the first word, and the first time on the potty.

I love it.

Well, glad to say we survived the "snowpocalypse" they had been forcasting! It seems that every storm that comes through is so over-hyped that when one actually comes, you think it won't be bad, much like the "Boy Who Cried Wolf". This time, however, it was really something!!!

18 inches.

School cancelled for 2 days.

Massive snow drifts.

I had to work this past Tuesday night, just as the storm was starting to get bad. I made it home... almost. I got stuck on our road a couple hundred yards from our house. I literally hit a wall of snow!!! Here's a picture of what I encountered:

Yup, that's right. The snow is up to my headlights. There was NO WAY that thing was getting out of there. Thanks to a couple neighbors we were able to get it out the next day. {Thanks!} However, we weren't able to get out of our road until later on Thursday due to 3-4 foot drifts covering our road and being practically the last ones on the list to have it plowed!

Nevertheless, it was fun! Oh to be 10 again...

My little munchkin and I were getting a bit of cabin fever, so to celebrate our regained freedom, we headed over to a friends' house to play.

This is "Le-la" as Brielle calls her. Ella is her name, really.

It's just too cute when she asks, "Le-la? Le-la?"

"Yes honey, we're going to go play with Ella!"

Good times with good friends. :)
