Spring is near!

Spring is just around the corner! I can almost taste it!!!

Birds are again flying north, rain showers are beginning to overtake the snow, and visions of forsythia and daffodils dance in my mind.

My hubby and I went to our local "Home & Garden Show" again this year. It always gets me geared up for spring. There are lots of different booths ranging from garage doors to counter tops and lawn care solutions. I keep saying I'm in the wrong profession because decorating and design make me giddy.

Quite frankly, I'm obsessed.

I always love a project.

In fact, between the various morning cartoons and tiny snippets of news, you can find me drooling over the shows on HGTV: Devine Design, Sarah's House, Dear Genevieve...

*sigh*

If only there was an endless budget... but then I'd probably go wild!

So, to appease my creative side, I've started this business. My grandiose urges to change and reinvent can now be focused onto tiny pieces of sterling silver that can be worn and changed, much like an outfit. Another benefit of jewelry is that it always fits!

The joys of being a mom...

My baby girl just recently reached the 20-month mark.

She ALSO just recently reached the 20 pound mark.

What can I say, she's just a little peanut!

Along with a new car seat and a new booster seat for the table, I figured it's about time to introduce the concept of the "potty".

She took to it quite well!

We'll have to work on the no-pants thing, though. :)

Actually, she went "poopie" on the potty for the first time Sunday night!

What a momentous occasion!!!

Ah... the joys of motherhood! Taking pleasure in the simple things in life like the first smile, the first word, and the first time on the potty.

I love it.

Snowpocalypse and a Giveaway!

Well, glad to say we survived the "snowpocalypse" they had been forcasting! It seems that every storm that comes through is so over-hyped that when one actually comes, you think it won't be bad, much like the "Boy Who Cried Wolf". This time, however, it was really something!!!

School cancelled for 2 days.

Massive snow drifts.

I had to work this past Tuesday night, just as the storm was starting to get bad. I made it home... almost. I got stuck on our road a couple hundred yards from our house. I literally hit a wall of snow!!! Here's a picture of what I encountered:

Yup, that's right. The snow is up to my headlights. There was NO WAY that thing was getting out of there. Thanks to a couple neighbors we were able to get it out the next day. {Thanks!} However, we weren't able to get out of our road until later on Thursday due to 3-4 foot drifts covering our road and being practically the last ones on the list to have it plowed!

Nevertheless, it was fun! Oh to be 10 again...

My little munchkin and I were getting a bit of cabin fever, so to celebrate our regained freedom, we headed over to a friends' house to play.

It's just too cute when she asks, "Le-la? Le-la?"

"Yes honey, we're going to go play with Ella!"

Good times with good friends. :)

New things!

The lull after the holidays can be quite depressing. Seriously. What is there to look forward to in January?

There's snow. And ice. And more snow.

If you're lucky you get a snow day (if you're a teacher or a student). I'm not that lucky.

My family is just getting over the stomach flu. It first hit my daughter. She threw up 13 times... poor little thing. First time she's ever thrown up and she didn't know WHAT was going on.

Two days later I got it. Gross. It's been a long time since I've been sick like that.

You feel like opening up all the windows and freezing those little bugs right outta the house! But that's not really good for the heat bill, is it? I've resorted to cleaning and disinfecting everything. A "pre-Spring cleaning" if you will! Makes me feel good and makes everything smell good, too. :)

I've also been busy making lots of necklaces for people I know and people I don't! I've added some new things like birthstones and new shapes (washers, squares, angel wings). All sorts of new and fun things are coming down the pike! Maybe even bracelets? I'm thinking about it. :) Some neat ideas are forming... stay tuned!

ALSO... I'm thinking of using a new "format" for my pictures. Tell me what you think!

Twins

3 1/2 years ago while on our honeymoon in Mexico, we met a neat couple from Vancouver. We still keep in contact and love the updates we get to hear about their family.

Speaking of... they recently had the most adorable twin boys! HOW FUN!
